"Two words that come to mind when I think of Sault Ste. Marie (affectionately called, "The Soo") are: community and food. Soo residents are truly the heart of this city and their love language is food. I am still overflowing with gratitude for the warm welcome I received from the team at Algoma Public Health (APH). Relocating for work, while an exciting prospect, can also be an anxiety-riddled experience. However, the people of APH, especially my team, have made it such a smooth transition. As corny as it may sound, coming to work truly feels like coming home to family – and how fitting for a place that we spend most of our time in! Everyone is equipped with a good recommendation for the best spots to socialize, explore the scenic waterside sites, and most of all, FOOD.
